Biggest Internet Threat Ever!
Hello everyone. I've learned of a new Internet threat that's is literally taking over the internet and your computers. Good news though, if you follow these steps you lessen the likelihood of becoming a victim.
These new virus's are called BOTS. The largest threat, Storm Worm, has infected an estimated 5 million computers world wide, making it one of the largest Super Computers. The reason I say, Super Computer, is because it takes over your PC and uses its resources, such as CPU, RAM, Bandwidth, etc. and makes all the PCs work together as 1 large computer. PC World Magazine calls this the "Worst Virus Ever"
I've got some good news, and some bad news. If you already have this Infection, then you will most likely have to wipe your hard drive clean and reinstall the operating system. If you don't, then you can most likely protect yourself for free! That's right, FREE! I have researched several different AntiBot programs, and the best so far is Threat Fire, which is a free download for the basic version, which is recommended by Maximum PC over Norton's AntiBot, which is $30.00. Go to http://www.threatfire.com/ to obtain your free copy.
After downloading and installing Threat Fire, run a Full Scan from the Start Scan Option. After you run the Full Scan, it will automatically keep your system up to date! This is a short quick Blog, but I wanted to get this info out to everyone as soon as possible. You still need to keep your current Antivirus program running, up to date, and scanning as well as your Spyware software if it's not included in your Antivirus software.
